There’s nothing sadder than being alone, broke, or homeless on Thanksgiving or Christmas. While the rest of the world seems to be having magical holiday moments, many people have a totally different reality. Valley Rescue Mission staff and volunteers assure that they can at least enjoy a delicious, traditional meal, some friendly conversation, and the knowledge that they are not alone in the world.

Large holiday meals are served with a smile on both Thanksgiving and Christmas day. We’ll serve well over 600 meals (sometimes close to 1,000) in-house, and deliver many more to the elderly and shut-ins on that day.

Dozens of volunteers are needed to make this happen, as well as lots of donated food. If your company gives you a turkey or ham that you won’t be using for the holidays, please consider giving it as a gift to feed the hungry on these special days.
