Thomas' Testimony

“My name is Thomas Vine, I graduated in August 2024.

10 years of running with the devil came to an end. He was defeated on October 25th, 2023, to be exact. The day I was released from a jail cell and entered Valley Rescue Mission, where I honestly, heart to heart, met God for first time. I've been living his will every day and truly understand what's it like to have a great life.

I was brung up through childhood, so naturally I fell into the same game with the devil. I did drugs for 10 years, I was in and out of trouble, just digging my grave inch by inch every day, not knowing what each day was going to hold for me. I was a father the whole time, but I loved my drugs, the lifestyle, the SIN more than anything. So not even my daughter could stop me from that lifestyle.

One broken night in a jail cell, I was finally defeated and ask the lord for a sign, some help. Couple days later, my lawyer came to me and said I was approved for a rehab: Valley Rescue Mission in Columbus. I smiled because I knew that I should have seen prison but by the lord I was spared and got rehab.

So I went, and soon as I walked through those doors, I met Ernie and Jason and heard their story along with many others from staff and brothers from Crossroad Valleyrescue. I realized their stories were similar to mine and they told me about Christ and what he can do for me if I opened my open heart up and so I talked to lord and listened and that's exactly what He did. I was holy spirit baptized and water baptized in my stay with the Valley Rescue Mission and Crossroads. I met so many brothers that I still stay in touch with today, like Adam.

Since I've graduated, I've got married, took my daughter on many vacations - spoiling her so much. Finally got a job that I can keep, and spreading word about the Lord to strangers at the same time. I've rebuilt many broken relationships over time.

Thanks to valley rescue mission, I have the lord in my heart, my family knows about the lord and have them in there heart. Life has been nothing short of great. I recommend the valley rescue mission to anyone that needs the help, because the way it changed and helped me, I know it can do to others!”
